Administrator-context script execution via unescaped filter_type
Published Jan 31, 2025 · Updated Mar 19, 2025
Reflected XSS in MarvinLabs User Messages 1.2.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts in an administrator's browser. The admin.php message view reflects the filter_type query parameter into the response without sanitization or output escaping. Exploitation requires a high-privilege user to open a crafted link, after which the script runs with that user's WordPress-origin privileges.
