Administrator-session script execution via reflected query parameter
Published Jan 31, 2025 · Updated Mar 14, 2025
Reflected XSS in Fantastic ElasticSearch 4.1.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser. The elastic_search WordPress administration page returns a crafted query parameter in its HTML without sanitizing or escaping the value. Exploitation requires a high-privilege user to open the crafted URL, after which the script runs with access to that user's WordPress session.
