Stored XSS via unescaped article name
Published Jan 9, 2025 · Updated Jan 9, 2025
Stored XSS in REDAXO CMS 5.12.0-beta1 through 5.18.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through an article name. The content page passes the stored getName() value into rex_view::title without rex_escape, causing the article name to be interpreted as HTML. Article-editing access is required, and execution occurs when another user opens the affected backend content view, enabling cookie theft and session hijacking.
