Local privilege escalation via type confusion
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Ivanti Endpoint Manager 2024 and 2022 SU6 and earlier allows local users to escalate privileges. Ivanti identifies type confusion that accesses a resource through an incompatible type, causing an out-of-bounds read, but has not disclosed the affected component or operation. Exploitation requires existing low-privileged local access and no user interaction, and successful use grants elevated privileges on the EPM host.
