Authenticated arbitrary file upload via unchecked suffix
Published Jan 6, 2025 · Updated Jan 6, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in ZHENFENG13's blogging application 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to write files through the editor. BlogController.uploadFileByEditormd takes the original editormd-image-file suffix without type validation, appends it to a generated name, and transfers the content into the public upload directory. Access to the administrative editor is required; successful exploitation stores attacker-chosen content at a returned /upload/ URL.
