Reflected XSS via unescaped URL parameter
Published Jan 5, 2025 · Updated Jan 6, 2025
Reflected XSS in emlog Pro 2.4.0 through 2.4.3 allows remote authenticated users to run script in a victim's browser. The Subpage Handler in /admin/article.php inserts the a query parameter into a returned URL without attribute-safe encoding, allowing a crafted event handler to enter the page. A low-privileged account and victim interaction are required; successful exploitation alters rendered content or performs actions with the victim's browser privileges.
