Authenticated root command execution via service name
Published Jan 3, 2025 · Updated Aug 28, 2025
OS command injection in Roxy-WI 8.1.0 through 8.1.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root via a service name. The action_service function interpolates the service argument into a sudo systemctl command without validating shell metacharacters. A premium account with authenticated web access can therefore run arbitrary operating-system commands with root privileges.
