Stored XSS via unescaped email preview

Published Feb 13, 2025 · Updated Feb 19, 2025

Stored XSS in WPEverest Everest Forms before 3.0.8.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through email settings. The Email Message field in Email Template settings stores insufficiently sanitized markup, and the preview renders it without output escaping. Administrator-level access and a multisite installation or disabled unfiltered_html are required; opening the preview executes the script in the viewer's browser.
