Stored XSS via unsanitized form description
Published Feb 13, 2025 · Updated Mar 22, 2025
Stored XSS in ProfilePress before 4.15.20 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in the browser of a site visitor. The Drag & Drop Form builder stores the Description field for the login-persistence block without adequate sanitization, then renders the field in frontend forms. Exploitation requires a high-privilege administrator to publish the form and a site visitor to load the form; the script can expose a session or alter the site with administrator privileges.
