Subscriber-level entry modification via unchecked AJAX authorization
Published Apr 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 9, 2024
Missing authorization in RedNao Smart Forms before 2.6.94 allows remote authenticated users to modify stored entries through WordPress AJAX. The rednao_smart_forms_edit_form_values handler accepts an attacker-chosen entryId, entryString, and elementOptions without a capability check. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to replace another entry's stored field values; the demonstrated consequence is integrity loss, not disclosure or service interruption.
