Database read and modification via unescaped name
Published Dec 30, 2024 · Updated Dec 30, 2024
SQL injection in Code Projects Simple Chat System in PHP 1.0 allows remote attackers to read or alter database data through add_user.php. The handler inserts the POST name value directly into an SQL query without parameter binding or input neutralization, so quote-delimited payloads change query logic. The public proof of concept reaches the registration handler without application authentication and demonstrates a time-based MySQL SLEEP delay.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
