Authenticated database manipulation via unsanitized chatroom identifier
Published Dec 29, 2024 · Updated Dec 30, 2024
SQL injection in code-projects Chat System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to manipulate database queries through the id parameter. The /admin/chatroom.php handler inserts the id parameter directly into SQL statements without validation or sanitization, permitting injected SQL to execute. An administrator account is required; the demonstrated time-delay payload establishes query execution, while broader data access or modification depends on database privileges.
