CVE-2024-12985Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unsanitized ping address

Published Dec 27, 2024 · Updated Dec 27, 2024

OS command injection in Overtek OT-E801G OTE801G65.1.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via diag_ping.cmd. The handler passes the ipaddr parameter into a shell command without neutralizing command separators; the published request appends &&cat /etc/passwd. A valid low-privilege session is required, and successful exploitation executes arbitrary commands with the management service privileges.
