Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Jan 30, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in ethereumico.io EthereumICO 2.4.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the ethereum-ico shortcode. The shortcode handler renders user-supplied attributes into page output without sufficient sanitization or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is required to save a crafted shortcode; its script executes in the browser of each user who opens the injected page.
