CVE-2024-12908Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote code execution via unchecked MSI transform

Published Dec 26, 2024 · Updated Dec 27, 2024

Code injection in Delinea Secret Server 11.7.31 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through the Windows Protocol Handler. The sslauncher handler compares a Unicode-lowercased ssurl with approved domains before consistent canonicalization, then passes an attacker-supplied TRANSFORMS argument from setup.bat to msiexec. Execution requires a user to open a malicious webpage or document; a valid TLS endpoint and a signed Delinea MSI let the transform run code on the client machine.
