Administrator-triggered stored XSS via unescaped Button setting
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 20, 2025
Stored XSS in Andrew Ozz's Top Comments 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a plugin setting. The Button section accepts a script payload without sanitization or output escaping and later embeds it in a post after an approved comment is viewed. Administrator-level access is required, and execution occurs only after another user views the affected post; multisite remains exposed when unfiltered_html is disabled.
