Subscriber-level content deletion via unchecked AJAX actions
Published Jan 8, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in ScriptsBundle AdForest 5.1.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete posts and attachments. The sb_remove_ad handler and several other AJAX action handlers execute deletion or license-deactivation requests without checking the caller's WordPress capabilities. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to remove site content or deactivate the theme license, with no reported confidentiality impact.
