Authenticated arbitrary file upload via unvalidated ZIP entries
Published Jan 8, 2025 · Updated May 20, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in WPChill Modula Image Gallery 2.11.10 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write files via ZIP uploads. The ZIP upload path extracts archive entries to server storage without validating whether their file types are safe. Author-level WordPress access or higher is required; a dangerous server-executable file can enable code execution under the web server account.
