CVE-2024-12744Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via unquoted metadata parameters

Published Dec 24, 2024 · Updated Oct 14, 2025

SQL injection in Amazon Redshift JDBC Driver 2.1.0.31 allows remote authenticated users to escalate database privileges via metadata APIs. The getSchemas, getTables, and getColumns paths compose metadata commands from unquoted identifiers or literals instead of parameterized inputs. Exploitation requires database access and a caller that passes attacker-controlled metadata arguments; successful injection executes SQL with the session's database privileges.
