Stored XSS via unescaped placeholder setting
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 20, 2025
Stored XSS in Anna Bansaghi Mobile Contact Bar before 3.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through plugin settings. The mobile_contact_bar[contacts][1][placeholder] setting accepts an attribute-breaking payload that is stored and rendered without adequate sanitization and attribute escaping. Administrator privileges and a victim's interaction with the rendered phone field are required; the script then runs in the victim's browser under the site's origin.
