CVE-2024-12678Network attack vector

Namespace privilege escalation via unredacted identity tokens

Published Dec 20, 2024 · Updated Dec 20, 2024

Incorrect privilege assignment in HashiCorp Nomad 1.4.0 through 1.9.3 allows remote authenticated users to access workload secrets. Allocation reads return an unredacted workload identity JWT whose attached policies authorize workload variables and service discovery. A namespace:read user can obtain tokens for other allocations in that namespace, but no cross-namespace or host privilege is reported.
