Local system crash via malformed driver IOCTL
Published Dec 16, 2024 · Updated Dec 16, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in Advanced SystemCare Ultimate 17.0.0 and earlier allows local users to crash Windows via a crafted IOCTL request. The AscRegistryFilter.sys IOCTL handler dereferences a null pointer while processing control code 0x8001E024. Low-privileged local access is required, and successful exploitation interrupts availability by crashing the host.
