Local system crash via crafted driver IOCTL
Published Dec 16, 2024 · Updated Dec 16, 2024
Null pointer dereference in the IOCTL handler of FabulaTech USB over Network 6.0.6.1 allows local users to crash Windows. The ftusbbus2.sys kernel driver dereferences a null pointer when processing IOCTL 0x220408, causing a system availability failure. Low-privileged local access to the driver device interface is required, and the reported consequence is a crash rather than data access or code execution.
