Arbitrary file deletion via path-traversal API
Published Dec 16, 2024 · Updated Dec 16, 2024
Path traversal in Chunghwa Telecom topm-client 0.3.14 through 0.3.17 allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary local files. A local-web-server API accepts an absolute path without restricting file access to an allowed location and deletes the referenced file. A phishing page can invoke the CSRF-unprotected API without authentication, so successful abuse can remove files accessible to the client process.
