CVE-2024-12644Network attack vector

Arbitrary file copy via absolute path traversal

Published Dec 16, 2024 · Updated Dec 16, 2024

Absolute path traversal in Chunghwa Telecom tbm-client 0.3.15 through 0.3.20 allows remote attackers to copy arbitrary files. A local web-server API accepts attacker-controlled absolute source and destination paths and performs file copies without confining either path. Exploitation requires a user to visit attacker-controlled phishing content while the client is running; copied data can be exposed, and repeated copies can consume disk space.
