CVE-2024-12570Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Session hijacking via dependency proxy path bypass

Published Dec 12, 2024 · Updated Dec 17, 2024

Privilege context switching in GitLab CE/EE allows remote authenticated users with a victim's CI job token to hijack that victim's session. The dependency proxy JWT authentication route strips session cookies from /v2 responses but failed to normalize the //v2 variant, which returned the cookie. Exploitation requires a live victim CI_JOB_TOKEN and victim interaction; the acquired session can impersonate the victim and mint a personal access token.
