Email blacklisting via missing nonce validation
Published Dec 18, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Peter’s Custom Anti-Spam 3.2.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to blacklist emails through forged requests. The cas_register_post() function processes blacklist submissions without validating a WordPress nonce, so a browser session can submit an unauthorized change. Exploitation requires an authenticated site administrator to interact with an attacker-controlled link or page; the resulting change adds chosen email addresses to the plugin blacklist.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
