Cross-role document disclosure via DLS query bypass

Incorrect authorization in Elastic Elasticsearch 8.16.0 through 8.16.1 allows remote authenticated users to read DLS-protected documents. Certain queries bypass Document Level Security authorization controls, but Elastic has not identified the query types or faulty check. The flaw is reachable only when Document Level Security is in use and exposes documents outside the caller's assigned role.
