Settings modification via missing AJAX nonce validation
Published Dec 12, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
CSRF in Arena Live Blog 0.4.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to update WordPress plugin settings through a forged request. The albfre_user_action AJAX handler processes state-changing settings updates without correct WordPress nonce validation. Exploitation requires a site administrator to interact with attacker-controlled content while authenticated, and the documented impact is limited to plugin configuration changes.
