CVE-2024-12511Network attack vector

Credential capture via address book scan redirection

Published Feb 3, 2025 · Updated Sep 17, 2025

Missing authentication in Xerox VersaLink, Phaser 6510, and WorkCentre 6515 firmware allows remote authenticated users to redirect scans. The address-book interface accepts changes to SMB or FTP scan destinations without sufficient authorization, letting a user point scans at an attacker-controlled server. Scan functions must be enabled and the attacker must have printer and address-book access; a redirected scan can disclose stored SMB or FTP credentials.
