Stored XSS via unescaped wp_jdt shortcode attributes
Published Jan 7, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in WP jQuery DataTable 4.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through wp_jdt attributes. The shortcode handler accepts user-controlled attributes without sufficient sanitization and emits them into page output without context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the stored payload executes in the browser of each visitor who opens the crafted page.
