Reflected XSS via unescaped nonce parameter
Published Jan 17, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in Scribit Proofreading 1.2.1.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts via the nonce parameter. The admin display reflects the request's nonce value into HTML without sufficient sanitization and output escaping. Execution requires a user to follow a crafted link, after which the script runs in that user's WordPress browser context and can read or alter accessible page data.
