Root command execution via writable network configuration

Privilege escalation in ABB AC500 V3 firmware before 3.8.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary commands as root. The system-owned /mnt/sysdata/netconfig/ifs/ETH1 file is writable and executes network configuration commands as root during boot without rejecting injected shell commands. Exploitation requires successful authentication, physical access to a memory card, and prior directory traversal through CVE-2024-12429; the commands can change root credentials and start an SSH server.
