Unauthenticated shortcode execution via unchecked action value
Published Dec 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Code injection in RelyWP Coupon Affiliates 5.16.7.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary WordPress shortcodes. An unauthenticated action passes an insufficiently validated value to do_shortcode in inc/functions/functions-user-coupons.php, expanding attacker-supplied shortcode syntax and reflecting the resulting content. No account or user interaction is required; effects are limited to functionality exposed by installed shortcodes, including reflected script output.
