Browser script execution via unescaped notification identifier
Published Jan 11, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in Push Notification for Post and BuddyPress 2.07 and earlier allows remote attackers to run scripts via a crafted link. The on-demand notification settings page outputs the pushnotificationid request parameter into HTML without sufficient sanitization or escaping. No authentication is required, but a user must follow an attacker-crafted link; the script then runs within that user's site origin and can access data or perform actions available to the session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
