CVE-2024-1240Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Phishing redirects via malformed login next URLs

Published Nov 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Open redirect in pyLoad before 0.5.0b3.dev79 allows remote authenticated users to send login links that redirect users to attacker sites. The get_redirect_url helper passes the next parameter through is_safe_url, whose urlparse-based check treats malformed absolute URLs as relative before request normalization sends them off-site. A target must follow the crafted link and complete login; the resulting redirect enables phishing without changing pyLoad data.
