CVE-2024-12399Network attack vector

HMI traffic tampering via missing integrity enforcement

Published Jan 17, 2025 · Updated Sep 9, 2025

Message-integrity failure in Schneider Electric Pro-face software allows attackers to alter HMI traffic through network interception. The communication channel does not adequately verify that received HMI messages retain their integrity after transit; the specific protocol and code locus are undisclosed. Exploitation requires a man-in-the-middle position and passive user interaction, and it can expose HMI data, alter HMI communications, or interrupt HMI availability.
