Authenticated server crash via ZIP bomb upload
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Denial of service in GPT Academic at commit 3890467 allows remote authenticated users to crash the server via a crafted ZIP upload. The upload handler decompresses the archive and attempts to load the expanded contents into memory without limiting the decompressed size. Low-privileged access to the network upload interface is required, and successful exploitation exhausts memory and interrupts the service.
