CVE-2024-12369Network attack vector

Victim impersonation via missing OIDC nonce validation

Published Dec 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 4, 2026

Authorization code injection in JBoss EAP 7.x and 8.x and WildFly through 34.0.1.Final allows remote attackers to assume victim identities. The OIDC client accepted a redeemed authorization response without validating a nonce bound to the browser session that initiated login. Exploitation requires theft of a victim's authorization code and replacement of the legitimate response through a man-in-the-middle or phishing interaction; the resulting client session carries the victim's identity.
