CVE-2024-12355Public exploit

Local contact-data alteration via unvalidated add input

Published Dec 9, 2024 · Updated Dec 12, 2024

Improper input validation in SourceCodester Phone Contact Manager System 1.0 allows local users to alter contact data through an add-contact workflow. ContactBook::adding in ContactBook.cpp accepts manipulated input without adequate validation, but published records omit the rejected property and exact write operation. Access requires a local authenticated session, and the CNA bounds the reported effect to reduced integrity rather than disclosure or service interruption.
