Authenticated command execution via unfiltered template content
Published Dec 9, 2024 · Updated Dec 9, 2024
Server-side template injection in JFinalCMS 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands through edited templates. TemplateController.update writes the content parameter directly into a chosen FreeMarker template, and rendering it instantiates FreeMarker's Execute utility. Access to the template-management interface is required; successful exploitation runs commands with the CMS process's privileges and can alter hosted content or interrupt service.
