CVE-2024-12348Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cross-site scripting via unsafe attachment filename validation

Published Dec 9, 2024 · Updated Dec 9, 2024

Cross-site scripting in JPress 5.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a crafted attachment filename. The AttachmentUtils.isUnSafe check fails to reject script-bearing data in the files[] upload argument before the handler places it in web content. Exploitation requires low-privilege attachment-upload access and victim interaction; the injected script runs in the victim's browser context.
