CVE-2024-12342Public exploit

Router crash via incomplete AddPortMapping request

Published Dec 8, 2024 · Updated Dec 9, 2024

Denial of service in TP-Link VN020-F3v TT_V6.2.1021 allows remote attackers to crash the router through an adjacent-network SOAP request. The WANIPConnection handler processes an AddPortMapping body that omits required fields instead of returning a SOAP error, causing the service and router to freeze. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the attacker must reach UPnP port 5431 from the local network; loss of connectivity can persist until manual intervention.
