Subscriber-level content modification via missing capability check
Published Dec 12, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Mahendra Patidar Custom Skins Contact Form 7 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify posts and create skins. The cf7cs_action_callback function accepts post and skin changes without checking whether the caller has the capability required for those actions. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and exploitation compromises WordPress content integrity through arbitrary post updates and unauthorized skin creation.
