Unauthenticated shortcode execution via unchecked AJAX value
Published Dec 12, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Code injection in XTemos WoodMart 8.0.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary WordPress shortcodes via AJAX. The woodmart_instagram_ajax_query AJAX action accepts an insufficiently validated value and passes it to do_shortcode, causing WordPress to interpret attacker-supplied shortcode syntax. No authentication or user interaction is required, and impact is limited to capabilities exposed by shortcode handlers registered on the site.
