CVE-2024-12326Network attack vector

Cross-site scripting via case-sensitive SVG MIME check

Published Dec 6, 2024 · Updated Dec 30, 2024

Cross-site scripting in Jirafeau 4.5.0 through 4.6.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim's browser via an SVG preview. The jirafeau_is_viewable function applies a case-sensitive substring test to the uploaded MIME type, so image/svg+XML remains previewable. Exploitation requires a victim to open the preview link; the embedded script then runs in the Jirafeau origin and can read or alter browser-accessible data.
