Download unpublishing via missing nonce validation
Published Mar 25, 2024 · Updated Mar 19, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in CreativeMinds CM Download Manager before 2.9.0 allows remote attackers to unpublish downloads via forged requests. The unpublishHeader function accepts a download identifier from the cmdownload/unpublish/id route without valid WordPress nonce verification. An administrator must be induced to open the crafted URL while logged in; successful exploitation changes the selected download from published to unpublished.
