Student data modification via unchecked profile updates
Published Dec 9, 2024 · Updated Dec 9, 2024
Improper access control in Changeweb Unifiedtransform 2.0 allows remote authenticated users with teacher accounts to modify student data. UserController.php accepts student profile update requests and writes the selected student's fields without verifying that the authenticated teacher has administrative authority over that record. A teacher session is required, and successful exploitation changes another student's personal information without granting data-reading or service-disruption capabilities.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
