CVE-2024-12248Network attack vector

Remote code execution via crafted UDP requests

Published Jan 30, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in Contec CMS8000 Patient Monitor firmware allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted UDP requests. The UDP request-processing code writes attacker-controlled data beyond its intended memory boundary, but CISA has not identified the function or packet field involved. Network access is sufficient, with no authentication or user interaction; exploitation permits arbitrary data writes, device takeover, or a crash.
