CVE-2024-1224

Application takeover via SHA-1 password hashing

Published Mar 6, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Weak cryptography in C-DAC USB Pratirodh 3.1.2 and earlier allows local users with administrative privileges to obtain its password. The user-login component hashes the application password with SHA-1, leaving the stored credential susceptible to recovery. Administrative access is required; recovered credentials allow application control and changes to registered-user or device access controls.
